Scientific method best for waste management

Vijayawada: Panchayat Raj Additional Commissioner M Sudhakar said that scientific method of waste management would benefit the environment and people.

He participated as the chief guest at the ‘Green Teachers Training’ programme organised by APCOST Regional Science Centre here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Sudhakar said plantation, waste management, keeping the surroundings clean through Eco Club, creating awareness on environment was commendable and appealed the teachers to coordinate with green ambassador in panchayats.

DEO Krishna NV Rajyalakshmi shared her opinion on green teachers and said that Rs 5,000 each was provided to about 250 schools across the district which should be used for the cause. The DEO said that through this programme the schools would be transformed as garbage, air pollution and plastic free schools.

AP Green Core director BVA Krishnamurthy said that teachers should transform the students as future citizens of the country as teachers spend most of the time with students.
