Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, Chandrababu Naidu to attend Singapore flight launch separately
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu will attend the Gannavaram-Singapore direct flight services launching programmes separately on December 4 at Gannavaram Airport.
The two senior political leaders will not attend the programme at the same time due to unknown reasons. Chandrababu Naidu will attend the IndiGo flight arrival programme, which was scheduled at 3.40 pm on December 4.
Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu will attend the flight departure programme at 6.45 p.m. on the same day. According to District Collector B Lakshmikantham, arrangements are underway to conduct two separate programmes on December 4.
Lakshmikantham convened a meeting with Air Port director G Madhusudhan Rao and Nuzvid RDO Dinakar Swapnikal and others on Wednesday and discussed the arrangements being made for the historic day. He said the runway expansion works are in progress. He said a small meeting would be arranged on December 4 at the airport to mark the arrival and departure of the IndiGo flight at 3.40 pm and 6.45 pm.
The flight services inauguration created interesting debate in political circles as Chief Minister and Vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu will attend the two separate events on the same day.
Earlier, the two senior most political leaders attended scores of programmes jointly in the capital region during the last few years. They used to praise each other in the meetings and programmes.
