Two-day Aakruti Vastra from today

 Vijayawada: A two-day ‘Aakruti Vastra’, an exhibition and sale of crafts and textiles would be organised by Craft Council of Andhra Pradesh (CCAP) at SS Convention hall here starting from Monday, said B Sujatha executive member, Craft Council of Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the media here on Sunday, Sujatha said that Nannapaneni Rajakumari, chairperson of AP state Women’s Commission would be the chief guest of the inaugural programme and inaugurate the event. 

She said that about 40 stalls were set up and craftsmen from across the country would participate in the expo. She said that the exhibition was being organised for the fourth time after bifurcation of the state.

She said that this expo would be a platform or a hub for weavers, designers, people who underwent training at workshops and business people to market their products besides bringing life to the dying arts of Andhra Pradesh. 

She said that CCAP would organise classes to train interested people in craft and also organise health camps. 

The next expo would be at Visakhapatnam on December 6 and 7. The denizens can throng in from 10 am to 8.30 pm till December 4, she added.
