GVMC issues notice to Yarlagadda for installing statues on Beach road

Visakhapatnam: The Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC) authorities on has issued notice to writer-cum-politician Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad (YLP) for violating the rules and installing three statues on the Beach road without taking permission from corporation. 

According to the sources in GVMC, YLP had established the statues of Tollywood prominent hero Akkineni Nageswara Rao and veteran writer-cum-director Dasari Narayana Rao along with the statue of TDP MLA Nandamuri Hari Krishna, who was passed away in a tragic road accident recently. All the three statues were unveiled by HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao on the beach road on Saturday night.

The sources said that YLP had established the three statues along with his followers without any prior information or seeking permission from the Zone-II GVMC authorities. The issue became a hot topic after some citizens opposed the establishment of Nandamuri Hari Krishna statue along with the two other prominent figures.The local leaders had given prominence to a MLA Hari Krishna, who is not a famous actor nor he belongs to the city at any point of view.
