Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths trap Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector

Visakhapatnam: The Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) sleuths conducted raids simultaneously at the office and houses of Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector (AMVI) of Vizianagaram, K Ravi Kumar, and his friends in the city and surrounding places on Tuesday.

ACB DSP (Vizag) K Rama Krishna Prasad said that during the raids the officials  had unearthed  many disproportionate assets like lands, flats and buildings including gold ornaments (weighing 519 grams) which is worth Rs 9,82,800, silver ornaments weighing 180 grams worth of Rs 6,000 ,found  liquid cash of Rs 5,08,000  and Rs 55,000 as bank balance on the name of the accused officer and wife here in the city.

The raids have been conducted at various places including on the associates of the tainted officer and family members in Sriharipuram, Gajuwaka, Kurmannapalem, TSN Colony and Isukathota of Visakhapatnam city and some other places in Vizianagaram. The sleuths also recovered two cars and one two-wheeler from the house of Ravi Kumar in Visakhapatnam. 

Ravi Kumar joined the Transport department in 1990 as a constable  and  in October, 2014 he got promoted as AMVI at the Deputy Transport Commissioner office Vizianagaram.
