Chandrababu Naidu finalises 10 principles for Amaravati govt complex

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu finalised an action plan incorporating 10 principles for the construction of Amaravati Government Complex (AGC) for overall well-being of citizens, said Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) Commissioner Ch Sreedhar.

Speaking at a workshop on Green Buildings Ratings and Concepts jointly conducted by APCRDA in coordination with AP Energy Efficiency Development Corporation (APSEEDCO) and CII (Confederation of Indian) here on Tuesday, Sreedhar said that as per the action plan finalised by the Chief Minister, the entire vision of AGC construction would be guided by a well-defined ‘sustainability vision and strategies’ which identified 10 broad themes.

The themes are well-being, community impact, energy and carbon, mobility and connectivity, resources, water, land and ecology, social equity, planning for change and feedback, the commissioner explained.

He said the state government was determined to promote the concept of green field happy cities and would invite top city leaders across the world for the summit to aggressively promote the concept. The upcoming green capital city would incorporate the finest and futuristic green building concepts and technologies that help in enhancing the health and well- being of the people of the state, he added.  

The CRDA commissioner said the prestigious national institute TERI was actively involved with APCRDA for promotion of Green Building concept, particularly for the High Court and Assembly. “The TERI has entered into an MoU with CRDA for promoting green building project.

As on date, over 76 projects are registered with Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) accounting to 460 million sft,” he said. He further said that nowhere in India other than Amaravati capital city, such a big construction activity in an area of 60 million sft was being constructed, and he was sure that Amarvati would become a mega city in near future.

Advisor for power sector K Ranganatham, P Umapathi, joint managing director, APTransco, Coordinator, Anand, V Sudhakar Chowdary, head of the Vijayawada chapter of the CII, Vijay Sai Meka, chairman, IGBC Amaravati Chapter, T V R Chowdary, co-chairman of the IGBC Amaravati Chapter, Rajabapaih, Chief Engineer, APSPDCL Chief Electrical Inspectorate, SE Ramana Rao, CREDAI officials Srisiva Reddy and Mohan Rao and other officials were also present.
