MLA lays stone for building 574 houses
Kadapa: Rajampet MLA and government Whip M Mallikarjuna Reddy has said that though the government is facing severe financial problems, it is committed to provide houses to all homeless poor in the state.
Mallikarjuna Reddy laid foundation for construction of 574 houses which are estimated at Rs 78.50 crores under Pradahna Mantri Avas Yojana (PMAY)-NTR housing scheme at Rajampet on Monday.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, he said the aim of the Chief Minister is to provide houses to all poor people in the State and the state as government has been striving to achieve such mammoth task. He said that the houses would be completed by March, 2019.
He urged the beneficiaries to approach Municipal authorities to select the houses which are allocated under 3 categories. In the first phase, houses should be allocated for 600 beneficiaries against 1200 persons who had applied. There are some mistakes in the applications and after rectifying the mistakes, the remaining applicants will also get houses, he said.
Earlier, the government Whip also laid foundation for construction of women junior college which is being constructed at a cost of Rs 4.20crores, and inaugurated mineral water plant in Nandaluru town. Rajampet RDO M Kodanda Rami Reddy, Municipal Commissioner E Srinivasulu, Town Planning Officer Adhikari Murthy and others were present.
