Minister Paritala Sunitha distributes 3-wheeler scooters

Anantapur: Minister for Women and Child Welfare Paritala Sunitha said that the State government is striving for the welfare of the differently abled persons by implementing several welfare schemes under various categories. 

Addressing the 59th World Differently Abled Day organised at the Zilla Parishad office here on Monday, Sunitha said that the government had formulated multiple schemes for the welfare of the disabled persons in the State.

On the occasion, the Minister distributed 3-wheeler scooters and lap tops for 75 beneficiaries in the district. She said that 2,600 disabled persons are benefitting in all the districts at State level. Scooters, cell phones and lap tops have been given for the visually challenged persons and for those with hearing defects (deaf persons).

An amount of Rs.75 crores is being spent on giving monthly pensions to the physically challenged persons and Rs.27 crores under the 'Chandranna Pelli Kanuka'. A Study Circle is being opened in Vijayawada for the differently-abled persons. A Braille Script Centre at Guntur a is also under way, the minister said. She also assured that houses for the differently abled will be built in all districts.
