Navy personnel display thrilling feats
Visakhapatnam: On the occasion of the Navy Day, the Navy personnel at the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) headquarters here displayed an impressive aerobatics show at RK Beach enthralling the people of the city.
This year the Navy Day was observed with the theme “Indian Navy- Mission Deployed and Combat Ready”. Andhra Pradesh Home Minister N Chinarajappa was the chief guest of the Navy Day programme and the Navy personnel exhibited their skills under the supervision of Vice-Admiral Karambir Singh.
The Navy Day celebrations reached the final stage after the wreath laying ceremony at the war memorial situated at the RK Beach. After honouring the war martyrs, an operational demonstration of the naval submarines, aircraft and ships was made by the soldiers.
This way they not only display their equipment and its capabilities but also their resourcefulness and intensity. The denizens were enthralled with the performances of Navy personnel (ENC) and with their operational skills on the coastal bay at RK beach in the city on Tuesday evening.
People witnessed the demonstrations carried out by the Destroyers, Corvettes, Fast attack aircrafts and landing on moving ships, beach assault by marine commandos, sky diving, close range anti-craft firing, Naval band performance and Formation Anchoring and a host of other exercises.
