Aquabiz 2018 from Dec 21

Vijayawada: Confederation of Indian Industry in association with the department of fisheries is organising 3rd edition of Aquabiz-2018 an international trade fair in Vijayawada city for three days from December 21.

AP fisheries department commissioner Ramashankar Naik said that the department identified the fisheries sector as growth engine for social economic development of the state.  Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, Ramashankar Naik said that the government had taken several measures to accelerate growth in aqua culture sector.

He also said that the state government has given utmost priority to fisheries sector in its vision document and policies were being formulated accordingly. He also said that state government had come up with a comprehensive fisheries policy to promote the sector.

He felt that better coordination between research institutions and government Agriculture and Veterinary Universities was required in the country. The Aquabiz would be the bridge between such organisations in aqua sector, he said.  

Chairman Aquabiz-2018 Dr Seshaiah Pamulapati said that the event would be a common platform to bring stakeholders together on sustainable development, technologies, processing for value, fishery resources and opportunities in fisheries sector.
