Concentrate on seven priority sectors in budget, says Yanamala Ramakrishnudu

Amaravati: Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu addressing the higher officials in his chambers at the Secretariat on Wednesday instructed them to focus on seven sectors while preparing the budget.

He said that the budget should be prepared in such a way to increase revenue to the government but should not become burdensome to the common man.

The Finance Minister dwelt at length on the direction of budget stating that they should focus on alleviation of poverty, State development, removal of economic disparities, welfare of farmers, employment for youth, rural development and development of women while preparing the Budget.

The Minister reviewed various issues like tax revenue, non-tax revenue, cash maintenance, cash adjustment, payment of interest, cash reserves, and irrigation arrears, administration sanctions in various constituencies and growth of GDP among others.

Special Chief Secretary of Finance department Muddada Ravichandra, secretary Piyush Kumar, special secretary KVV Satyanarayana and others were present.

Later, addressing the heads of various departments in his chambers, the Finance Minister instructed the Registration department officials to make challan payments easy for the benefit of the consumers.

The revenue from the departments of Revenue, Commercial Taxes, Excise, petroleum products, Registration and Transport is encouraging while there was no improvement in the departments of Mining and Forest, the officials pointed out.

Revenue Department Special Chief Secretary Dr D Sambasiva Rao, Transport Department Special Chief Secretary Nirab Kumar and Finance Special Chief Secretary KVV Satynarayana were present.
