Danger lurks on Gunupudi bridge

​Bhimavaram: The poor state of bridge on Gunupudi drain is sending jitters to the road users. The railing on the bridge was damaged on two sides giving room for accidents. The side walls were badly damaged and officials are not concerned about the safety of the people travelling on the bridge.

As the officials gave priority to the development of road between Bhimavaram and Jonnalagaruvu, the safety takes back seat at the bridge. The R and B road was developed at a cost of Rs 22 crore leaving the bridge unattended. As the road was widened without giving priority to the bridge, the spot became dangerous for the road users. 

Any inattentiveness leads to accidents. There appears danger of vehicles falling into the drain during nights. When vehicles come from both sides, they have to stop and wait at the bridge until the other vehicle cross the bridge. The bridge needs immediate attention of the officials.
