634-cr Patanjali park to generate 33,400 jobs

Amaravati: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Secretariat on Thursday and discussed the proposed mega food park to come up at Chinnaraopalli village of Kothavalasa mandal in Vizianagaram district.

The Patanjali Food and Herbal Park Pvt Ltd is going to set up the food park in 172.84 acres at a cost of Rs 634 crore providing employment to 33,400 people. Patanjali Ayurved Limited would be the sole promoter for the establishment of the project.

Crops, including barley, rice, sesame, maize, jowar, pomegranate, mango, chilli, onion, ginger, peas, potato, turmeric, black gram, red gram and papaya would be processed in the unit.

Core processing facilities, including IQF freezer for fruits and vegetables, aseptic filling and pulping line, pre-cooling and ripening chambers, cold storage with blast freezer, drying grinding, grading packing facility for spices and grains and dry warehouse will be available.

The anchor unit would be juice extraction unit with a capacity of 1500 MT per day proposed with total investment of Rs 45.20 crore. Juice, biscuit, noodles, frozen vegetables and spices processing units are likely to be set up to benefit farmers of the region in a big way.
