Over 500 register for free scuba diving

 Visakhapatnam: Several persons from city and also from other states had registered for the 500 free scuba diving under adventurous water sport which was introduced recently at Rushikonda. 

The State government had introduced the adventure water sports like  hovercraft, kayaking, speed boat and scuba diving in and around Rushikonda beach. Many from Telangana also had registered for scuba diving.

 To encourage water sport under tourism project, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao  had earlier announced that the State government had sanctioned Rs 20 lakh for scuba Divining and it is  also offering  free style  scuba diving Operations and given a link to register on web page from November 12 (www.goandhrapradesh. com/scubadiving). 

As of now, over 300 enthusiasts got registered on the website. Already 200 people have enjoyed the free scuba diving service offered by Livein Adventures Private Ltd.

The water sport adventures like, scuba diving, hovercraft and kayaking  have been drawing    visitors including foreigners to Rushikonda beach. Even people from Hyderabad are coming for  Scuba diving as AP government is offering free dives for first 500 registrations, which costs around Rs 4,500.

Speaking to Hans India, District Tourism Officer Purnima Devi said that Hovercraft service among the water sports is receiving huge response  giving the experience of riding against the wave. 

In the coming days many other speed boats will be brought into service of tourists on the coastal bay line in Vizag, she added.
