75 new MSME units to come up in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: As many as 75 new MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) are coming up at the Industrial Park, Gurrampalem near Pendurty in the city limits. The district administration agreed to allocate 120 plots in the park to the 75 new MSME units.

The District Industries Promotion Committee meeting was held on Monday  night. Collector and Chairman of the Committee Pravin Kumar presided over the meeting. During the meeting, the members of the committee have accepted the new proposals submitted by the entrepreneurs, and decided to allocate the plots at the Gurrampalem Industrial Park.

Following the state government’s new policy, to promote MSME units on   a large scale, the committee has allocated four plots at the Narsipatnam-Rachapalli Industrial Park for a new MSME unit. The committee screened 30 claims submitted for the industrial promotion incentives. The meeting has accepted 23 claims and orders passed to release of Rs 82 lakh to the 23 units. The committee has rejected 7 claims.

The Collector directed the officials to send the proposals to APIIC for construction of a post office, health centre, canteen and one ATM kiosk at the demolished water tank land at Autonagar near BHPV.

The meeting also decided to send the proposals to Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) to lay CC roads at Tunglam and Tokada village roads. General Manager District Industries Centre Ramalinga Raju, Zonal Manager APIIC Ethirajulu and representatives of various MSME units were present.
