Robber arrested, booty recovered

 Rajamahendravaram: Three-Town crime police have unravelled a theft case in six days and recovered Rs 3 lakh worth of stolen property out of Rs 3.96 lakh worth of property  stolen and produced the accused, Agasha Omkareswara Goud (25) in a magistrate court here on Monday. The magistrate remanded him for 14 days.

Disclosing the details at a press conference here on Monday, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crimes) I Trinadh Rao said that on a tip off, the Three-Town crime station inspector K Vara Prasad with his team nabbed the  accused Agasha Omkareswara Goud at gold market in KVR Swamy road on December 9.

The police recovered the stolen property including six ordinary golden bangles and a gold chain-- a total of 48 gms, out of stolen property of 72 gms of gold. Two ordinary gold bangles and Nallapusala chain were not found. The accused Goud was working as a driver for six months at Pendurthi Subramanyeswara Rao (76) residing at Subash Nagar.

 The accused who was in debt trap decided to loot the house of his owner. On December 3 (Karthika Pournami) at about 7.30 PM, he went into the house and threatened the wife of Subramanyeswara Rao with a knife and stolen eight ordinary gold bangles, a gold chain and Nallapusala gold chain and decamped with the booty.

The accused at present is residing at Durga Nagar and he belongs to Sivapuram village of Kothapalli mandal in Kurnool district. He discontinued M Sc (Organic Chemistry) course in Rayalaseema University and worked in some private companies.
Pendurthi Subramanyeswara Rao lodged a complaint in Three-Town crime station and a case was registered under Section 392 IPC.

Urban Superintendent of Police Dr Shemushi Bajpayee appointed inspector Vara Prasad as investigative officer in this case, who successfully investigated with her team. Three-Town crime station inspector M Sekhar Babu and other staff also worked with the investigating officer.

East zone Deputy Superintendent of Police and in-charge of Central Zone of police Nagaraju was present.
