Will submit report to State govt by Oct 2019: Finance panel chief
Chittoor: Prof G Nancharaiah, the Chairman of the 4th State Finance Commission, has said that the panel will submit its final report to the AP government by October 2019. The panel consisting of five members will recommend to the State government over strengthening of local bodies after analysing funds being sanctioned to gram panchayats, mandals and civic bodies.
Addressing a meeting held at ZP Chairperson’s chambers here on Monday, Nancharaiah has explained the objectives of the 4th State Finance Commission. He stated the panel had visited Guntur, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram and reviewed various issues in consultation with elected representatives and officials concerned.
He exuded confidence of State government would certainly accept all the recommendations of the panel. Presiding over the meeting, ZP Chairperson Girvani has expressed serious concern over local bodies becoming defunct due to inadequate funds. “Because of NREGS, we were able to construct cement concrete roads, school buildings and compound walls,” she stated.
Commission members Prof V Narasimhulu Naidu, Prof B Nagaraju, T Bhaskara Rao and I Satyanarayana were present. ZP CEO Ravi Naidu and TDP leaders spoke.
