Raft foundation for Sectt on Dec 19

Amaravati: Raft foundation for the new Secretariat will be laid on December 19, which will be a record in the country. During a review meeting on the progress of works in Amaravati city with the APCRDA officials on Wednesday at Undavalli, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu finalised the auspicious day for the single largest raft foundation for entire secretariat buildings of five towers.

The raft foundation for all the five towers of secretariat will begin on December 19 itself, said the Chief Minister’s Office officials on Tuesday. Stating that Chief Minister will participate in this programme, they said this will create a record as single largest raft foundation in the entire country.

The raft will be laid for around 12,000 cubic metre with a depth of 13 feet . Meanwhile, a 32-metre high statue of N T Rama Rao will come on Neerukonda hill. The L&T company representatives gave a presentation on the proposed statue to the Chief Minister.

The estimated cost for the project is around Rs 406 crore. The government will collect most of the amount as donations from public. A special trust will be constituted for this statue, before starting construction. 

Chandrababu Naidu directed to the Amaravati Development Corporation CMD Lakshmi Pardhasaradhi to make the area not only a tourist destination but also encourage economic activities.
