Reinstatement of workers in Horlicks factory demanded
Rajamahendravaram; It is grossly unjust to remove four employees from the Horlicks factory on the pretext that their contract period had ended, said CITU leader SS Murthy.
Addressing newsmen, he said that the four employees had been working in the factory for the last ten years.
He said that the workers—Pravin Kumar, P Satish, T Raju and G Raju—were removed from service. The factory had changed the contractors several times and it was not necessary to remove workers whenever the contractors changed, he added.
He said that the issue had been taken to the notice of the Joint Commissioner of Labour who referred the case to the assistant commissioner labour at Rajamahendravaram.
He demanded immediate reinstatement of the sacked employees.
Pravin Kumar who was removed from service said that he lost his livelihood and their family is out on the road due to the sacking.
Horlicks Union leader KSV Ramachandra Rao was also present.
