TRS chief has to address many issues before entering AP politics
Amaravati: After forming the government in Telangana, TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao is contemplating to play a crucial role in Andhra Pradesh, with the sole motive of defeating his counterpart and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu in the elections in 2019.
He announced his decision publicly to enter AP politics and gave direct warning to the TDP that he will give a return gift to Chandrababu Naidu like “Birthday gift”.
According to sources, TRS leader KT Rama Rao tentatively scheduled to meet the leader of opposition and YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy on December 22 to discuss the plan of action to be implemented against Chandrababu Naidu.
KCR was able to gain confidence of Andhra settlers in Telangana and he was able to display his leadership qualities. But, he has to convince the people in AP to succeed in his anti-Chandrababu strategies. At the same time, he has to answer many questions of Andhra people before he enters into the state.
His stand on Polavaram Irrigation project, disputes on both Krishna and Godavari river waters must be explained to the voters. What would be the role that his party in AP after the elections also must be explained.
The disputes pertaining to AP Reorganisation Act must be addressed, since Naidu had earlier established that Chandrashekar Rao, being the Chief Minister of Telangana, was the main reason behind many unresolved problems.
In addition, the AP government has been fighting over the injustice done to the state during bifurcation regarding sharing of revenue, debts and properties like Public Sector Undertakings and others.
The properties were shared based on the location while the debts were shared based on the population. With a single stroke, all these institutions located in TS territory were allotted to Telangana and AP lost all these properties. In addition, the private sector was also developed around Hyderabad city, which include Information Technology and other companies.
Unlesss KCR addresses these issues, his campaign or intervention against Chandrababu Naidu in AP will boomerang and benefit TDP, according to the political analysts.
TDP leaders in the state are firmly believing that if KCR campaigns against the TDP and in favour of either YSRCP or Jana Sena, it would definitely benefit the TDP.
Minister for social welfare Nakka Ananda Babu even dared KCR to campaign in the state. The Chief Minister too welcomed KCR to participate in the elections in the state saying that this was a democracy and anybody can contest from anywhere in the country.
