Be alert to tackle Phethai cyclone: Minister Narayana tells officials

Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana instructed the district administration to be alert keeping in view of cyclone Phethai and prepare official machinery to tackle the situation efficiently. He held a review meeting with officials at his camp office in Chintareddypalem here on Sunday.

Addressing at the meeting, Narayana said that they had taken all measures to face cyclone in the coastal areas of the district. They had arranged JCBs to remove uprooted trees during cyclone.

He said that they had arranged drivers for JCBs and also generators to take emergency measures at the time of cyclone. Officials have been monitoring the situation in coastal areas and fishermen should not venture into the sea for fishing, said the Minister.

He also instructed the officials to be alert and have to respond to tackle emergencies. He also visited 9th division in the city and inspected the ongoing development works. The minister also received grievances from the local residents and said that they would complete ongoing UGD and water works within two months.

Nellore Municipal Corporation Commissioner S Alim Basha, Municipal Corporation staff and others were present. Later, the Minister distributed CM Relief fund cheques to the beneficiaries at the camp office. He said that they had distributed relief to 356 beneficiaries.
