Kaki Pichhuka School celebrates Monkey Day
Kanigiri: The Kaki Pichhuka School in Kanigiri celebrated the International Monkey Day on Sunday. The children played and danced wearing monkey masks prepared by them.
The school director, Boggarapu Praveen Kumar, explained the children that though the monkeys are mischievous and naughty in behaviour, they are intelligent and friendly animals.
He said that monkeys can be utilised in service with training and explained how the Kayabukiya Tavern in Tokyo employed monkeys to serve its hotel customers and how the farmers in Malaysia, Thailand and other countries are using monkeys to get down the coconuts from the trees.
He explained that the monkeys live up to 50 years, depending on their breed. He said that the Monkey Day is being observed globally on December 14 but as Kaki Pichhuka is a Sunday only school, they are observing it on the Sunday near to it.
The school correspondent Suma, teachers Durga, Rabiya, Shajahan and others also participated in the programme.
