Ready to face cyclone threat, says Collector Kona Sasidhar
Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar said that the district administration has taken all the precautionary measures to avoid human and property loss due to cyclone Phethai. He conducted a review meeting at the ZP Conference Hall in Guntur city on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the officials are ready to face cyclone threat and 47 cyclone relief centres were set up in the district. The revenue, police and NDRF teams are ready to jump into action. He said the officials have already set up check-posts and stop fishermen not to venture into the sea for fishing.
He reminded that the district administration has appointed special officers. Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Anand Babu urged the farmers harvested paddy to keep it in safer places to avoid loss. The Collector explained the steps taken by the district administration to face cyclone threat and how various departments were working. Minister for Civil Supplies Prathipati Pulla Rao was also present in the meeting.
