Alekhya enthralls audience with her performance
Vijayawada: Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam exponent Alekhya Punjala mesmerised with her dance ballet “Mandodari” on Sunday evening organised by Andhra Pradesh Creative and Culture Commission at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College.
According to Hindu mythology, Mandodari, wife of Ravana, has given wise and good suggestions to Ravana at every stage but Ravana paid no heed to her voice, which resulted in the demise of Ravana Brahma.
The life sketch of Mandodari was portrayed in this dance ballet with main incidents like Mandodari’s love with Ravana and her marriage with the permission of parents, Sita brought to Lanka by Ravana, death of Indrajit, son of Mandodari, end of Ravana in the war with Rama.
Alekhya’s choreography was excellent and her performance as Mandodari was appreciated by the audience.
The other characters were performed by Dr Tadepalli as Mayudu, Chinta Ravi Balakrishna as Ravana, Koundinya as Rama, Aishwarya as Sita with all of them maintaining the same energy.
Along with the main characters, Srivalli, Swetha Manasa, Geetha and Nalini were also in the cast. This dance ballet was written by Dandibhotla Narayanamurthy.
