Ghat to come up at Talpagiri Ranganatha temple: Minister P Narayana

Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that the State government would construct a ghat with 100 metres width at Talpagiri Ranganathaswamy temple at a cost of Rs 9.18 crore. The Minister visited the temple located in Ranganayakulapeta here on Tuesday. He offered special prayers at the temple on the occasion of Vaikunta Ekadasi. 

Speaking to the media, Narayana said that they were taking measures to develop temples across the State under Temple View Programme. Irrigation Department would complete the construction of ghat within 75 days and handover it to the temple before Teppotsavam, the Minister said. 

“We had developed Bara Shaheed Dargah in the city to perform Roti festival in the city. We have also been developing Necklace road in between Irukalala Parameswari Temple and Bara Shaheed Dargah with Rs 20 crore. Road works are in progress,” he stated and added statues of 5 famous personalities would be placed on the Necklace road in the city. 

He assured people of completing the works by the end of January, said the Minister. State government has been giving priority for every festival, he added. He also explained that they had invited tenders for modernisation of Koneru at Moolapeta and complete the works within 75 days. 

The Minister also said Vedagiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Narasimhakonda would be developed. Painting works to Galigopuram have been taken up with Rs 10 lakh, said the Minister. He further said that CC road works have taken up enabling Giripradakshina around the temple. Local leaders were also present.
