Power supply restored in five cyclone-affected mandals
Kakinada: The efforts of APEPDCL officials and staff resulted in restoration of power supply in all the five affected mandals in East Godavari due to Phethai cyclone within 20 hours.
According to details, the power supply in Kakinada urban, Kakinada rural, U- Kothapalli, Tallarevu and Pithapuram were affected due to heavy wind exceeding 100 kilometers per hour.
As a precautionary measure the power supply was disconnected around 3 am on Monday.
Soon after the cyclone crossed Kakinada–Katrenikona coast in East Godavari by 2 pm the officials of EPDDCL started restoring power supply by reinstalling electrical equipment including erecting power supply poles and power supply lines.
According to EPDCL, Kakinada DE, N. Udaya Bhaskar in total 250 electric poles were found damaged besides damages to equipment in these areas due to winds exceeding 100 kilometers per hour.
The staff of the EPDCL swung in to action and restored the power supply by midnight hours in all the five mandals.
The DE complemented the staff for their efforts in restoring power supply on war-footing within short time.
