Rs 25,000 per acre compensation sought for crop damage

Guntur: YSRCP Guntur Parliamentary constituency coordinator Kilaru Rosaiah demanded the government to to give compensation of Rs.25,000 per acre to the farmers for the crop damage due to cyclone. He addressed a press meet held in the party office in Guntur city on Tuesday.

He said due to untimely rains the farmers suffered heavy loss and nobody will come forward to purchase discolored paddy from the farmers. 

He demanded the government to purchase damaged paddy from the farmers immediately and allot funds form the marketing stabilisation funds. 

He recalled that the Chandrababu Naidu assured the farmers to set up price stabilization fund of Rs3,000 crore at the time of elections and he failed to keep up his election promise. 

He criticised that the government did not distribute input subsidy to be paid to the farmers so far. 

He reminded that farmers in the state suffered losses due to drought and cyclone also.
