Veena Noble Dass contributions to Mahila varsity remembered

Tirupati: The contributions of Professor Veena Noble Dass will be remembered as long as the Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visvavidyalam (SPMVV) stands, says Prof T V Subba Rao, Professor and Director at Bengaluru-based Research and Development Council of National Law School of India University. 

He addressed an Endowment Lecture on ‘Women as Leaders’ in memory of Professor Veena Noble Dass organised by Department of English at Senate Hall on the varsity premises here on Tuesday. He stated that the name of Veena Noble Dass will go into annals of the SPMVV’s history because of her irreproachable contributions to the Mahila varsity. 

Later, the key speaker of the Endowment Lecture, Shireen Noble Nasir, who is the youngest daughter of Prof Veena, and also a senior professional trainer working at various colleges and institutes at Melbourne in Australia spoke about the importance of women in leadership role. Nasir mentioned that women make great leaders than men because of their natural qualities of being empathetic, balancing the work and personal life and being able to handle the crisis situations. 

Hepsibah Zabde, training coordinator at Proexcel Training and Development in Melbourne, said that Professor Veena Noble Dass very strong and always stood for the empowerment.  The lecture was presided over by Prof T Bharathi, HoD of the English. The faculty and students of various departments attended the lecture.
