Rs 12 lakh ZP funds for 10th class students
Eluru: Zilla Parishad Chairman Mullapudi Bapiraju announced that the Rs 12 lakh was granted to purchase study material for the tenth class students to enable achieve hundred per cent results this year.
Addressing the review meeting with district officials in his chambers, the ZP chairman suggested to the Sarva Siksha Abhiyaan (SSA) project officer Brahmananda Reddy to allot Rs 2 lakh from SSA funds for the same purpose.
He said that the study material would be handed over to the students from December 22.
He recalled that philanthropists had donated Rs 30,000 to provide benches to the 30,000 students.
“Digital classrooms, compound walls, additional classrooms, and playgrounds were provided to the schools,” he added.
The ZP chairman said that priority was being given to health apart from education.
A vehicle would be procured soon at a cost of Rs 91 lakh for helping the cancer victims, he said and added that there are 77 primary health centres in the district and health sub-centre would be built in every village with a population of 5,000.
He said that Rs 50 crore would be sanctioned soon to clear the pending bills for constructing roads and drains in the villages.
