Tennis Ball cricket tourney from Dec 22

Vijayawada: The 29th National Tennis Ball Cricket Championships 2018 for men and women would commence from December 22 to 25 at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium at 10 am, said Go Sports Management CEO CR Ramesh here on Thursday. 

He said that the championship would be organised under the aegis of Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India, affiliated to Union Ministry of Sports.

Speaking to the media, Ramesh said that the event will be co-powered by Rotary Club of Vijayawada Midtown, the biggest club in the world in membership. 

All the state respective Tennis Ball Cricket associations will nominate one men's team or both men and women teams. 

He said that so far 32 teams including men and women teamsfrom Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Goa, Telangana, Odisha, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Poorvanchal, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Maharashtra, Chandigarh, Uttaranchal had confirmed their participation.

He said that all the match rules and regulations are being framed by the All India technical committee of TBCFI (Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India) and all the matches will be played with light tennis ball in the league-cum-knock out tournament and the matches will be played day and night. As of now the matches will be played at two grounds at IGMC Stadium under flood lights till 11 pm, said Ramesh.

RD Prasad, Secretary, AP Tennis Ball Cricket Association and Ch Madhu Babu, President, Rotary Club of Vijayawada were present.
