AP Govt aims to double the income of farmers by 2022: Somireddy

Guntur: Minister for Agriculture SomireddyChandramohanReddy said that the government has taken steps to double the income of farmers by 2022. He laid the foundation stones for the construction of Agriculture Market Intelligence Centre at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore, DigitalisationCentre of Agriculture at a cost of Rs.64 lakh and Satellite based Agriculture Resource Supervision Centre. 

He inaugurated seed purification godownat the NGRanga Agriculture University premises on Friday. He said that the government is increasing budget for agriculture sector to increase income of the farmers and reminded that 62% of the people are based on the agriculture for their living. 
He said that the State government was implementing welfare schemes for farmers and for agriculture development. 

In spite of drought and cyclones, the government is developing  agriculture sector. The State government is giving top priority to micro irrigation system and reminded that the government has allotted Rs.1,380 crore for micro irrigation system during the financial year, the minister added. 

Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University Vice-Chancellor VallabhaneniDamodar Naidu said that they will try to double the income of the farmers by 2022. MLC A S Rama Krishna, MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar and others werepresent.
