No match for Jayadeva in literature
Tirupati: The Secretary of Sandeepani Veda Vidya Pratishtanam, Ujjain, Prof Viroopaksha V Jaddipal has said that no one can beat Jayadeva in Sanskrit and literature in particular.
Speaking at the two-day national seminar on “Jayadeva’s Literature’ held at Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) here on Friday, he said that Jayadeva was equally good in literature and spiritual aspects. He had appreciations to his masterpiece “Gitagovinda” across the universe.
Though number of research work was taken on this, doors are open for new things to be brought out, he added. In his presidential speech, the Vice-Chancellor (V-C) of Vidyapeetha Prof V Muralidhara Sharma opined that Jayadeva was a scholar par excellence. His masterly work Gitagovinda kavya attracted one and all.
No doubt, his Ashtapadis from Gitagovinda have gone nook and corner of Andhra Pradesh than Odisha with melodious singer of AP Ghantasala rendered them pertaining to Dasavatara description. He assured that the Odisha Chair of Vidyapeetha will take all responsibility to promote his literature in the entire world.
The seminar was started with welcome address by in-charge Registrar Prof GSR Krishnamurthy and co-ordinated by Dr Niranjan Mishra, Dr Radhagovinda Tripathy has proposed vote of thanks.
On this occasion, a book ‘Utakalasri Manjusha’ was released by the dignitaries on the dais. It was the collection of articles edited by Dr Niranjan Mishra, Co-coordinator of Odisha Chair for which the V-C Prof V Muralidhara Sharma was the Chief Editor.
