Left parties to protest in Delhi on January 3,4
##BIG-IMAGE#Vijayawada: CPI state secretary K Ramakrishhna said that the Left parties will stage protest in New Delhi for two days, on January 3 and 4, to express solidarity to MPs of Andhra Pradesh who were agitating for Special Category Status to State.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Ramakrishna said the Left parties and various people’s organisations would participate in the agitation and would bring the Special Category Status issue to the notice of Union government once again during the present Parliament session. He asked the students and various organisations to come to New Delhi for participate in the protest.
He took strong exception to the attitude of Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he was not reacting anyway on the agitation of MPs of AP. He said that the Prime Minister was intentionally neglecting the State interests.
He demanded that the Prime Minister to meet MPs of Andhra Pradesh and solve pending issues of AP Reorganization Act.
He also said that the Left parties would observe strike in drought-hit mandals in the State on December 28. He said that the government, in the cabinet meeting, did not discuss on drought conditions in several mandals of the State.
