AP ahead of other States with 10.5% growth: Somireddy

Nellore: Agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that the state had achieved growth rate of 10.5 per cent standing in first place in the country which is an exemplary feat.

Chandramohan Reddy and municipal administration minister P Narayana laid foundation stone  for the Kapu Bhavan at Irukalala Parameswari temple in the city on Sunday. Speaking to the media on the occasion, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that the state government had been implementing various welfare schemes for the benefit of Kapus.

He also said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had introduced welfare schemes with an aim to provide a minimum income of Rs 10,000 for each family from BC, SC, ST and also to Kapus. He reminded that the state government had passed a resolution for Kapu reservations in Assembly and sent it to the Centre for approval.

He said the Centre had not considered any proposal from the AP government and not even supporting the state in its development and appealed to the people to teach a lesson to the ruling BJP. The minister distributed 1,583 cattle to the beneficiaries at Nawabpet market yard in the city. He said that they had distributed cattle under various corporations in the district at a cost of Rs 20 crore besides providing fodder for them.

He said the state government had been providing Gokulams to promote dairy industry with 90 per cent subsidy.  City mayor Sk Abdul Aziz and others were present. Further, Narayana Group Chairman Puneeth donated Rs  1 crore for the construction of Kapu Bhavan.
