44 cr to be disbursed to 43,050 families
Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that they are going to distribute Rs.44.21 crore to 43,050 families in the district under non-fishing package. Minister Somireddy laid foundation stone here on Monday for a bridge at Tirumalammapalem in Venkatachalam mandal which will be constructed with Rs.9.35 crore.
Speaking to the media, the Minister said that he had earlier assured for a bridge to the area after finding troubles being faced by the local people during 2015 floods. He also said that they would start the works within one week. Somireddy explained that works with Rs.106 crore have been taken up under Rurban scheme in Venkatachalam mandal.
‘We would finish the tender process for construction of Degapudi-Bandepalli canal on January 1. Government had also sanctioned Rs.41.70 crore for construction of the canal”, said the Minister.
Later, Chandramohan Reddy laid foundation stone for construction of roads in Venkatachalam mandal. He said that they had taken up pending works with Rs.10 crore in the mandal. He explained that they had brought Somasila South Canal water to Podalakur mandal constructing a siphon. They would bring a mega water plant in the mandal with Rs.4.69 crore for providing drinking water to the local population, he added.
