Vijayawada: Continuing his tirade against the BJP for the second consecutive day on Monday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the BJP could not win elections with money.

He said the BJP won only one seat in Telangana Assembly elections in spite of vigorous campaign made by the BJP’s top brass including Prime Minster Narendra Modi, Party president Amit Shah, Central Ministers and many state and Central leaders. “The BJP can’t win elections with money and the Telangana elections proved it,” he pointed out.

As part of the white papers releasing programme, Chandrababu Naidu released a white paper on Governance at the Praja Vedika at Undavalli on Monday. Naidu explained the measures being taken by the state government to ensure good governance and delivery of services to the people since the TDP came to power four-and-a-half years ago.

He questioned as to why the BJP-led NDA government was not banning the Rs 2,000 notes.  He alleged that the BJP government was not scrapping these notes because it wanted to win elections by using these notes.

Alleging that the BJP was a major threat to the democracy, he reminded that the BJP government was misusing the power by using institutions like Enforcement Directorate, CBI, I-T department to raid the opposition party leaders in the country.

Referring to Telangana polls, he said the BJP was able to win only one seat compared to the five seats it bagged in the previous elections. He ridiculed the BJP leaders for making more helicopter rounds in Telangana spending crores of rupees than the votes they got in the elections.

He once again alleged that the BJP betrayed the people of AP and the TDP government. He alleged the BJP was not cooperating for the development of state.

He said though the Union government was not supporting, the state achieved double digit growth in agriculture and won 615 national awards in various fields in the last four years.

He defended his alliance with the Congress in the Telangana polls. He said the political scenario has been changing in the country over the years and the political parties were giving priority to the ideology rather than the political compulsions.

He reminded the Left parties never had an alliance with the BJP because of two parties have two different ideologies. Referring to the governance, he said the TDP government had been trying to reduce the income disparities among people of the state.
