Congress lost its vote bank in TS due to tie-up with TDP: Kanna Lakshminarayana
Nellore: BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana on Monday said that the Congress had lost its vote bank in Telangana State in the recent elections as it had forged a tie-up with the Telugu Desam Party and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
He alleged that no State government scheme in the entire State was being implemented without the interference of TDP leaders. He also alleged large-scale corruption in the implementation of the government schemes.
The BJP organised 'Praja Avedana Dharna' at the Collectorate here on Monday and a public meeting was conducted. Addressing the gathering, BJP leader Lakshminarayana said that political scenario of Telangana had changed completely with the campaign of the TDP which was part of Mahakutami.
He said the Congress would have got good number of seats if Chandrababu Naidu stayed away from campaign in Telangana State. “TDP had enticed the people with cash in Kukatpally constituency. A section of the media had promoted Chandrababu Naidu,” Kanna said.
The BJP leader pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had introduced 126 schemes for the welfare of the poor in the country. He exuded confidence that people of the State would make the January 6 Guntur public meeting of the Prime Minister a grand success.
Kanna said the TDP had simply altered the names of Central schemes publicising them as their own in the State, alleged the BJP leader. He also added that the TDP leaders were not even leaving lands and natural resources in the State.
He said the TDP leaders and activists were demanding commissions from the common people even to provide tap connections, social security pensions and for housing schemes.
He further alleged that Naidu had diverted State funds for his own business ventures. “The Central government had sanctioned Central Institutions to the State respecting AP Reorganisation Act and also funds for development of the State. Naidu acknowledged the same earlier but he is now blaming the Centre of not releasing funds only to defame BJP,” he said.
The TDP government had failed to construct 1.50 lakh houses in the State though they were sanctioned by the Centre, Kanna added. He said that people in Andhra Pradesh were ready to defeat the Telugu Desam Party in 2019 elections.
BJP State general secretary S Suresh Reddy alleged that both Ministers from the district were involved in corruption. BJP leaders Karnati Anajaneya Reddy, Surender Reddy, Koteswar Rao and others were present.
