Tussle between Chandrababu Naidu and Narendra Modi to become intense
Amaravati: Come New Year, it would be a no-holds-barred fight between AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
With Election Commission getting ready to sound the poll bugle in February, Naidu is getting into the election mode and appears to be anxious to leverage on the publicity blitzkrieg he had carried out till now against the BJP to take his agitation for justice to the state to the next level.
The BJP too is getting its act together with former minister and BJP legislator P Manikyala Rao resigning to the membership of the Assembly. He was in Chandrababu Naidu's cabinet till the friendship between BJP and the TDP was in full bloom but left Naidu's company after the latter stepped out of NDA. The remaining three BJP MLAs too might follow suit, it is learnt.
Already the BJP is going full throttle against the TDP and has even invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Guntur where he, on January 6, would explain to the people what the BJP had done for the state.
According to BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana, the prime minister would "call the bluff" of Chandrababu Naidu and make an attempt to the people to see the Center’s contribution in the state's development so far.
While this is so, Naidu, keen on nailing the BJP on every aspect, is coming out with white papers to draw the attention of the people to the smart gains that the state had been logging in, despite the Centre making attempts to impede its growth.
He has already come out with crucial white papers on unkept promises made in the AP State Reorganisation Act, 2014, reforms in governance and the social welfare initiatives the TDP government has taken up to go to the rescue of the disadvantaged sections of society.
Naidu, after releasing all the 10 white papers, would put them up for discussion all over the state from mandal level which act is expected to sensitise the people in favour of the TDP and tell them how the BJP dispensation at the Centre was treating the state.
During the next few days, Naidu is going to get busy to lock horns with Naidu. On Wednesday, Naidu is expected to take Narendra Modi's guts for garters at the Dharma Porata Deeskha at Anantapur for leaving the state to the mercy of elements when he was constitutionally bound to go to its rescue.
Then, Naidu, in yet another optic, will lay the foundation stone for a steel plant in Kadapa district on Thursday, only to drive home the point that the Centre had failed to keep the commitments made in the Act. The exercise will be more in the nature of showing the BJP in poor light vis-a-vis state's commitment for people's welfare.
