Rayalaseema University excels in south zone Inter-University Handball tourney

Kurnool: South Zone Inter University Handball tourney concluded at St Joseph Degree College grounds in the city on Wednesday. Around 1000 athletes from 67 Universities have participated in the tourney.

The tourney was jointly conducted by the Rayalaseema University and St Joseph Degree College. On the concluding ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of St Joseph Degree College, SC Anoop participated as a Chief Guest and presented prizes to the winners and runners.

Of the 67 Universities participated in the 5-day  Inter University tourney, the Rayalaseema University stood in the first place and Andhra University (Visakhapatnam), Bharati University (Pondicherry) and Krishna University (Machilipatnam) bagged second, third and fourth positions respectively. These Universities would participate at finals to be conducted at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, Punjab.

CS Anoop, chief guest on the concluding ceremony, appreciated the athletes of Rayalaseema University for bagging the first position at the South Zone Inter University Handball tourney. He said that it has given him immense pleasure for conducting the tourney at their college grounds. He also assured that we will strive to host National Level sports in Kurnool.

Later, the CEO along with other guests, Dr K Rama Krishna Reddy, Naga Malleshwar Reddy, Y Showrly Reddy distributed prizes to the winners and runners. They also appreciated the Rayalaseema University management for coordinating the sports effectively.
