Arrangements in place for Bhavani Deeksha Viramana
Vijayawada: Elaborate arrangements were made at the Kanaka Durga temple for the five-day Bhavani Deeksha relinquishment that will begin on December 29. It is estimated that five lakh devotees may visit the temple for the Deeksha Viramana from December 29 to January 2.
Queue line works were already completed from Canal Road to temple. Main programme of Agni Pratistapana, Irumudi and Subhahora will be performed at 8.30 am near the Maha mandapam at the foot of Indrakeeladri.
Later, the devotees will be allowed into the temple, said the Temple Executive Officer V Koteswaramma. She said hat elaborate arrangements were made for the peaceful relinquishment of Deeksha. Stating that devotees from many parts of the State will attend the annual event, she said devotees will be allowed for darshan from early morning on December 30.
Traffic will be diverted for five days to mark the Bhavani Deeksha Viramana. Vehicles passing from Hyderabad towards Vizag will be diverted via Ibrahimpatnam, G Konduru Junction Road, Nuzvid, Tiruvuru and Hanuman junction. Vehicles passing from Hyderabad to Chennai will pass via Ibrahimpatnam, G Konduru, Velagaleru, Kotturu Tadepalli, V Y Rao Estate, Bypass Road in Ajit Singh Nagar, Gunadala and Ramavarappadu Ring and Benz circle. Similarly, vehicles passing from Vizag to Hyderabad and Chennai to Hyderabad will be moved in this direction.
Heavy bandobust will be made to regulate traffic in the city and on the National Highways. One additional superintendent, three DSPs, 14 circle inspectors and 54 sub-inspectors will monitor the traffic. In all, 40 ASIs, 234 constables and 125 home guards are drafted for the special duties.
