Committed to welfare of poor: Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy
Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that the State government has spent Rs 750 crore for four lakh people as part of the Adarana scheme. The Minister distributed tools to the beneficiaries at Venkatachalam on Friday as part of Adarana-2 scheme.
Speaking at the meeting, Chandramohan Reddy stated that the then government had not taken care of BC communities. The TD government is providing latest equipment with good quality at 90 per cent subsidy to the beneficiaries for their livelihood,” he mentioned.
The AP government insured 2.7 crore people whereas Telangana government had only insured 40 lakh people till now, he compared. State government has been providing social security pensions to the people belonging to weaver’s community by reducing the minimum age limit,
he explained.
The Minister informed that they would take up works of underground drainage in Venkatachalam with Rs 7.5 crore. Development activities in the mandal were taken up at a cost of Rs 106 crore with the support of the then Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, said the Minister.
He also explained that online tender process for Degapudi-Bandepalli canal has been in progress and any company in the country can participate in the procedure. The Minister felicitated K Tulasi, who bagged bronze medal in Asian powerlifting championship recently. Further, he participated in coordination meeting of the TDP at NTR Bhavan in the city.
