Singapore flights running with huge demand: Chandrababu Naidu

  Amaravati: While announcing achievements of aviation sector in the state, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the Singapore flights from Gannavaram have gained huge demand. Even though the State government offered the Viability Gap Fund, there was no need to provide it as they got huge demand. 

He said that state capital Amaravati got connected to first International sector that is Singapore.

Airport capacity and size increased including Runway length and terminals were expanded to accommodate larger aircraft of Code D and E, that is Boeing 787, A 321 and others. 

Passenger movement at AP Airports enhanced to 5.5 MPPA (FY1849) from initial 1.1 MPPA (2013-14). 

Connectivity to other cities in india increased from 7 Nos to 15 Nos.

Growth rate achieved over the last four years is 38% (CAGR) in comparison to national growth rate of 12% (CAGR).The State currently handles 1.7% of the total passenger traffic in India and stands at No.2 in terms of largest number of operational airports in the country. 

Air traffic movements recorded during FY17-18: 51,300, air traffic movements for April 2018 - November 2018: 47,050.

Employment generation: nearly 4000 number generated across the Airports in AP. 

Contribution to State GDP: Approximately 1.2%
