4.86 cr collected as penalties during 2018: Vigilance SP

Anantapur: District vigilance SP Ramanjaneyulu has directed his staff to increase the income by collecting taxes and fines effectively. He along with DSP Mahaboob Basha and CI Srinivas Reddy held a press conference at Vigilance office here on Saturday and spoke on the work done and the development of the department in 2018.

A total of Rs 4.86cr collected from fines levied during vehicle check-ups has been deposited in government treasury. The officials raided mining quarries and found that they evaded Rs 7.78 crore taxes. Officials imposed fine amount of Rs 2.35 crore upon them. It is found that land conversion charge worth Rs 8.66 crore has been evaded under the Anantapur Revenue division.

Electricity bills worth Rs Rs 55.57 crore were to be paid yet. It is also found that stamp duty of Rs 58.61crore to be paid during windmills erection agreement has been evaded, Rs 7lakh worth tobacco has been seized. Four criminal cases have been registered and 21 vehicles have been seized.
