Upholding to rights of poor govt motto: MLA Badeti Kotarama Rao
Eluru: MLA Badeti Kotarama Rao (Bujji) has said the TDP government under the stewardship of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is extending security to the rights of the poor by extending various welfare schemes for their uplift.
Participating in Janmabhoomi programme in 31st division on Friday, the MLA said that the government introduced more than 100 welfare schemes for the poor.
It was providing insurance to the workers in unorganized sector. The government was contemplating scheme to benefit women joining private hospitals for delivery.
It has plans to bear the treatment cost, he said. The MLA along with mayor Noorjahan Pedababu and state handicrafts development corporation chairman P Prasad handed over cheques to women self-help groups (SHGs).
Corporators also participated in distribution of fruits to the pregnant women. In 22nd division, they also released posters on awareness on child marriages and trafficking of children.
