Sathya Sai Class X student bags Balvikas Excellence Award

Visakhapatnam: V Sri Vidya of Class X, who is pursuing Balvikas course of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, was presented the prestigious national ‘Balvikas Excellence Award’ at the ongoing Golden Jubilee celebrations of Balvikas education system at Puttaparthi.

She is pursuing her Balvikas under Seethammadhara Bhajana Mandali of Visakhapatnam. Sri Vidya is one of the only two from Andhra Pradesh who were awarded the national ‘Balvikas Excellence award.’ The award was presented to Sri Vidya by Bindal, wife of Rajeev Bindal, Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Assembly. The award is given to Balvikas students for their outstanding extracurricular excellence at national-level.

Sri Vidya was a multi-talented girl with several state and national level awards to her credit. She was a good dancer in Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, folk and Bihu. She was also a good classical singer and plays violin.

She was National Balala Puraskhar 2016 (AP nominee), Ugadhi Puraskhar 2016 Hyderabad, Chiru Narthanam (Door Dharshan), Vizag Top Ten Talent awardee and has given over 500 dance performances all over India.

She performed at National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi in the presence of Prime Minister and other VVIPs. She also won around 30 National and State-level prizes including Balotsav, Khammam Folk First Prize 2013, Natyaravali National-level first in classical 2014, Natyaravali State level first in classical 2013, Kalavahini, State-level folk and classical dance competitions 2013 and won two gold medals in NCC. She is the daughter of V Pydi Raju, lecturer and V Padmavathi, Balavikas Alumni, Balavikas Guru.
