Women seek assurance from Jagan for safe drinking water

Srikakulam:  Women of Vonturu village in Kaviti mandal of Itchapuram assembly segment urged the YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy to give an assurance for supply of safe drinking water. As part of Praja Sankalpa Yatra, Jaganmohan Reddy  covered several villages in Sompeta and Kaviti mandals in Itchapuram assembly segment on Monday.

On the occasion, Vonturu village women met YS Jagan and explained that they have no safe drinking water facility and ruling TDP leaders and officials have turned a blind eye on their repeated requests.

Responding to it, Jagan assured them  supply safe drinking water soon after his coming to power. Kaviti MPP and TDP leader, Kirankumari  and her husband joined YSRCP in the presence of Jagan by leaving the TDP due to differences with the local TDP MLA.

Fishermen also complained to YS Jagan that they have not yet  received any compensation from the government in the wake of loss of boats, nets and houses due to Titli cyclone. 

The fishermen also complained that former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy allotted 16 acres of land to them for their houses,  but later governments have been neglecting houses construction. Jagan assured them for quick completion of houses after assuming power. Jagan covered total 3,628.2 km distance till Monday evening as 339 days were completed in his Yatra.
