Chandrababu Naidu wants Centre to provide reservation for Kapus too

Amaravati: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu demanded the Central government to provide reservations to Kapus as the AP Assembly passed the Bill recently and sent it for the approval of Parliament.

The reservations issue in the country became a hot topic among political circles in the state, after the announcement of the Central government on enhancing the reservations limit to felicitate 10 per cent reservations to Economically Backward Classes (EBCs).

Speaking in a teleconference with the party MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other important senior leaders on Wednesday, Naidu said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced a proposal to enhance reservations limit from present 50 per cent to 60 per cent to benefit the poorer sections in upper castes.

“This is a political stunt aimed at attracting the voters across the country in the general elections. The Prime Minister wants to divert the people’s anger at him over Rafale deal and other failures by bringing the reservations issue into the public debate,” he observed.

Naidu also suggested to the party leaders to mount pressure on the Central government to include Valmiki Boya community in the Scheduled Castes, as the state government sought. Stating that TDP would welcome the reservations on the basis of the economic backwardness,  he said so far the reservations were based on the social backwardness. He, however, made it clear that the TDP would not allow the BJP’s politically-motivated reservations move.

Chandrababu Naidu blamed that the Sangh Pariwar of the BJP’s sister organization became a centre for political conspiracies in the country. The RSS also has been executing the plots of BJP.

Reacting on the book released by YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy against the TDP leaders on alleged corruption, Chandrababu Naidu said that it was baseless and brought for political benefit by throwing mud on the TDP. He said that Jagan, who was a criminal brought the book blaming the TDP Government.
