Narendra Modi indulging in cheap tricks to garner votes: TDP
Vijayawada: The Supreme Court judgement reinstating Alok Verma as the CBI Director is a slap in the face for the BJP-led NDA government, said Sadineni Yamini Sarma, official spokesperson of the Telugu Desam Party.
Addressing newsmen here on Tuesday, Yamini Sarma said that with the reinstatement of the CBI chief, it was proved once again justice still prevails in the country. The unilateral decisions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah were exposed, she added.
Referring to the reservations announced by the Narendra Modi administration to the economically backward classes just before the elections, she said that the announcement was politically motivated and the Prime Minister was indulging in cheap tricks to garner votes.
She accused the Prime Minister of abusing the Parliamentary system. Yamini Sarma recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a liberal dose of assurances during the 2014 elections but not a single assurance was implemented.
Describing the announcement on reservations as a cheap trick, she said that people know pretty well that the Modi administration could not implement this policy. Yamini Sarma referred to the report published by the Independent Group of Experts under the aegis of Foundation For Democratic Reforms headed by Lok Satta founder Dr Jayaprkash Narayan which stated that the Centre is yet to give Rs 85,000 crore to Andhra Pradesh. She wondered as to what State BJP leaders would say about this.
She said that it was shame on part of the AP BJP leaders for not bringing pressure on the Central leadership to give funds to Andhra Pradesh in order to protect the interests of the State.
