Anganwadi workers feted
Anantapur: Women and Child Welfare Minister Paritala Sunitha has felicitated two Anganwadi workers here on Friday, who received national awards for their dedicated work towards women and children.
The two Anganwadi workers Ramadevi working in Talupuru Anganwadi Centre and Padmavathi from Madakasira Project is working in Amarapuram Anganwadi Centre were presented with national awards.
The award was given away by Union Minister for Welfare and Child Development Maneka Gandhi in New Delhi. Speaking at the felicitation function, Sunitha called upon Anganwadi workers to draw inspiration from the awardees.
She stated that she is very happy at the two women bringing laurels to Anantapur. The women took good care of Anganwadi children and implemented the nutrition programme with integrity and also ensured 100 per cent admission of children in government schools.
They carefully monitored the anaemic women and ensured their safe delivery apart from taking steps for boosting their haemoglobin levels. They also monitored effectively their post-natal health. The two awardees were also given cash awards of Rs 50,000 each.
