National Investigation Agency gets 7-day custody of accused Srinivas

Vijayawada: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been given nod by the court to take J Srinivas, accused in the attack on YSRCP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in Visakhapatnam, on a one-week custody.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Vijayawada city on Friday accepted the request of investigating officials in this regard.  The in-charge Magistrate of NIA court instructed the jail officials to conduct health checkup of the accused before handing him over to the NIA.

As per the court order, health checkups should be conducted once in every three days in the custody. The officials should not use third degree in custody and the accused also can take advocate's help during the inquiry.

Besides, the court also extended judicial custody of Srinivas up to January 25. The accused has been sent to prison in Vijayawada city as per the orders of the NIA court.

The jail officials provided special barrack to accused. YSR Congress MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy and advocates team were also present in the court.
